Batata Harra, spicy fried potatoes

Potatoes are my favorite and Batata Harra, spicy fried potatoes, is excellent! For the best result, do not hold back on the oil, spices , fresh coriander or salt… Decadently fantastic! Enjoy!

Ingredients
  • 3 potatoes large
  • 1/2 onions
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 chili peppers
  • 3/4 tsp coriander, ground
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 bunch coriander, fresh
  • 1/2 lime or lemon
  • 4 tbsp oil

  1. Peel then dice the potatoes into 1 cm cubes. In a large frying pan gently fry the potatoes in oil, turning once a minute, until almost done.
  2. Finely chop the onion, garlic and chili and add to the potatoes. Add the spices too. Turn up the heat to get some colour on the potatoes and onions and fry 3-5 minutes more.
  3. Roughly chop the coriander and zest a little of the lime.
  4. Finish the dish by stirring in the coriander and zest, and squeezing over the juice. Serve!
